The purpose of this chapter is to help achieve the goals and objectives of the transportation, land use and parks and recreation elements of the city of Electric City comprehensive plan, to promote healthy living and tourism, and provide ease of access and connectivity to critical areas of the city for its residents and visitors. The city of Electric City shall, to the maximum extent practical, scope, plan, design, construct, operate and maintain appropriate facilities for the safe accommodation of pedestrians, bicyclists, transit users, motorists, emergency responders, freight and users of all ages and abilities in all new construction, retrofit or reconstruction projects. This title provides for the implementation of complete streets guiding principles. Through ongoing operations and maintenance, the city of Electric City shall identify cost effective opportunities to include complete streets practices. (Ord. 500 § 1, 2015)
