Any land use, structure, lot of record or sign which was legally established prior to the effective date of the ordinance codified in this chapter or subsequent amendment to it and which could not be permitted to be established as a new use in a zone in which it is located by the regulations of this chapter may be permitted to continue as a legal nonconforming use in compliance with Chapter 18.55 ECMC, Nonconforming Uses and Structures.
