The intent of the city in the adoption of this chapter is to provide to those personnel of the city who are without the protection of either the police or fire civil service systems and who hold executive positions a job security and protection from removal from their position with the city. The job protection afforded the department heads designated below is to be considered as a form of civil service for the purposes of RCW 35A.12.090. (Ord. 541 § 1, 2019; Ord. 402 § 1, 2008)
