The city administrator, city clerk/treasurer, public works director and fire chief shall serve until removed as provided in this chapter or until their resignation, death or disqualification to hold office. The mayor may recommend removal, with or without cause, of any of the officials listed above. Such recommendation for removal shall require the confirmation of a majority of the whole council before becoming effective. The mayor shall have the power to suspend any of the above listed officials without pay, pending a vote by the city council upon the mayor’s recommendation of removal.
