The public works director shall be responsible to the mayor for effective administration of the public works department and shall have all the powers and perform such other duties as provided by state laws, this code, ordinances, resolutions and the direction of the mayor. The public works department shall be responsible for the city infrastructure, including streets, water and sanitary system, stormwater, parks and public works projects. Engineering services may be provided by consultant contracts entered into by the city if such costs are authorized by the city’s budget. (Ord. 403 § 1, 2008)
