(1) “Firearm” is defined to include any weapon or device from which a projectile or projectiles may be fired by an explosive such as gunpowder, by compressed air, or by release of a spring. “Firearm” does not include a flare gun or other pyrotechnic visual distress signaling device, or a powder-actuated tool or other device designed solely to be used for construction purposes.

(2) “To hunt” and its derivatives mean an effort to kill, injure, capture or harass a wild animal or wild bird.

(3) “Wild animals” means those species of the class Mammalia whose members exist in Washington in a wild state and the species Rana castesbeiana (bullfrog). The term “wild animal” does not include feral domestic mammals or the family Muridae of the order Rodentia (old world rats and mice).

(4) “Wild birds” means those species of the class Aves whose members exist in Washington in a wild state. (Ord. 543 § 1, 2019; Ord. 261 § 2, 1987)
