3.96.030 Functions and powers of the district.
(1) The city, acting by and through its city council, may authorize a vehicle fee of up to:
(a) Twenty dollars per vehicle as provided for by RCW 82.80.140;
(b) Up to $40.00 of the vehicle fee authorized in RCW 82.80.140 if a vehicle fee of $20.00 has been imposed for at least 24 months; and/or
(c) Up to $50.00 of the vehicle fee authorized in RCW 82.80.140 if a vehicle fee of $40.00 has been imposed for at least 24 months and a district has met the requirements of subsection (6) of Section 309 of 2ESSB 5987.
(2) When authorized by the voters pursuant to the requirements of Chapter 36.73 RCW, other taxes, fees, charges and tolls or increases in these revenue services may be assessed for the preservation, maintenance and operations of city streets. Additional transportation improvements may be added to the functions of the district upon compliance with the requirements of said chapter.
(3) The district board shall have the powers and functions provided for by Chapter 36.73 RCW, as it now exists or is hereafter amended, to fulfill the purposes of the district. (Ord. 505 § 4, 2016; Ord. 467 § 3, 2012)
